Also in attendance at her book signing that took place in Lagos, were popular celebrity fashion designer, Swanky Jerry, Tiffany Amber and Nkiru Anumudu among other dignitaries.

Ms Campbell kicked off her career after she was recruited at the age of 15, she established herself among the top three most recognisable and in-demand models of the late 1980s and the 1990s, and was one of six models of her generation declared supermodels by the fashion industry.

In addition to her modelling career, Ms Campbell has embarked on other ventures, including an R&B-pop studio album and several acting appearances in film and television, such as the award-winning Fox television series Empire and modelling competition reality show The Face and its international offshoots. She is also involved in charity work for various causes.

Speaking about the book, Naomi Campbell said:

“The book is a culmination of my life’s work. It includes all that I’ve done in the fashion business for the past 29½ years. The book is a timeline of my career, and has allowed me to remember and give credit to all the wonderful people I’ve had the pleasure of working with over the years. Because of this, it’s very special to me.

It took quite a few years to put this book together, because we didn’t want to rush it. It was important both to Benedikt Taschen and I to find all of my pictures and compile them into two really beautiful books…Working with Benedikt was a great experience – I love and respect him, and I wouldn’t have wanted to create a book like this with anyone else. For me, it was a dream come true.”
