Coronavirus Infection Hit 782 As Nigeria Confirms 117 New Cases

Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has on Tuesday night confirmed 117 new cases of Coronavirus, the highest number reported in a day so far.

The centre made this known in a tweet, stating that 59 of the new cases were reported in Lagos, 29 in FCT, 14 in Kano, 6 in Borno, 4 in Katsina, 3 in Ogun and one each in Rivers and Bauchi.

According to NCDC, as at 11:25 pm 21st April, there are 782 confirmed cases of #COVID19 reported in Nigeria, 197 discharged and 25 deaths.

In a follow up, the centre stated that;

Five cases previously reported in Lagos State have been transferred to Ogun State Therefore, Lagos has reported 430 confirmed cases while Ogun has reported 20 confirmed cases.

Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) had on Monday night announced thirty-eight new cases of Coronavirus.

Lagos, which currently has the highest number of COVID-19 case – 430– recorded no case on Monday.

Meanwhile, Federal Government has said private hospitals that have been treating patients infected with coronavirus will remain shut till further notice.

Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), the government agency on the front line in the fight against coronavirus, confirmed this on Tuesday.

In a report by DAILY POST on Tuesday afternoon, NCDC advised those that have been to such facilities to go into isolation.

These hospitals include: St Nicholas, Lagos Island branch; First Cardiology Consultants Hospital, Ikoyi (where Abba Kyari died); St Edwards Hospital, Ajah; Vedic Lifecare Hospital, Lekki; County Hospital, Ogba and Premier Specialist Hospital, Victoria Island.
