Artiste Slimcase Under Fire For Distasteful Comment Made About Tina Who Was Shot Dead By Police In Lagos
Popular musician, Oluwafemi Oladapo Oko-Eko also known as Slimcase has been the subject of criticism, over his distasteful comment about the killing of 16-year-old Tina Ezekwe, who was recently shot dead by a police officer at Iyana-Oworo area of Lagos state.
Slimcase in an Instagram post made on May 30th paid tribute to an African American man, George Floyd, who was unlawfully killed by a White man, Derek Chauvin, by kneeling on the victim’s neck for over 8 minutes.
However, in the comment section, a follower with the handle @olamiposi_hope_ called out the singer for his bias in paying tribute to a foreigner but not to Tina who died in Lagos.
Slimcase replied by saying George Floyd’s death is a global pandemic, while Tina’s killing should be left for local media outlets to report.
This comment sparked outrage on social media, as many Nigerians described the artiste’s statement as ‘distasteful‘ and ‘insensitive.’

In my opinion slimcase was never a celebrity tbh, Just look at what he posted and the most annoying part is that those Instagram ass lickers were praising him in the comment section. The guy is cancelled. He should go and play his songs in America. Idiot bastard pic.twitter.com/H0TzRFqC0w

Funny thing about Slimcase issue is that a lot of people on Instagram were stanning and praising him for his wisdom like Solomon.
Is it that God gave Instagram Nigeria the brain of fowls and TwitterNG the actual human brain?

Slimcase had every chance to reply that comment about the murder of that young girl intelligently but he refused to. Goes to show how dumb most of our celebrities are.
God will not let us lose all of our senses when we finally become famous. 🤲🏻 #JusticeForUwa #JusticeForTina

The only thing paining me about Slimcase is y’all are going to make him relevant again by trending his name.
Someone that his career has faded into the background like his hairline🤦🏾♀️.

Slimcase thinks the death of George Floyd is a “global pandemic” and the death of the Lagos girl should be left for channels to talk about
Lmao.. How do we contain this level of in-built stupidity 😩 pic.twitter.com/FsqYZlzGPO

Slimcase is the typical example of someone who does giveaway on Social Media to gain relevance and popularity but has a Family at home who are starving to death.

Everyone should go to Slimcase Instagram page and let him know how much of an idiot he is, sometimes people are too stupid to see what they said wrong….you have to make them know.

the fact that slimcase has an audience of 1.6m people yet cannot speak on the injustice happening in our country but will rather spew trash says a lot about our “celebrities”

Slimcase thinks the Nigerian police killing a 16 year old girl is not worth talking about because it’s not a “global pandemic” 🤦♂️ pic.twitter.com/XSQlB8aC2O

I can’t get over the fact that Slimcase literally said, “leave the Lagos girl for channels to talk about”.
That Lagos girl was Tina who was gunned down by the police in Nigeria.
It’s one thing to be more interested in the injustice in faraway US.
It’s another thing to be daft.— Baldilocks (@Baldilocks__) May 31, 2020
You guys are dragging Slimcase that has forgotten his sense inside a cigarette/weed case..
Walking Mad Man 😏
