D’banj Rape Allegation: Seyitan Is No Where To Be Found, Forced To Delete Tweets – Communication Strategist Chioma Agwuegbo Cries Out
Communication Strategist Chioma Agwuegbo has raised an alarm that Seyitan Babatayo who accused singer D’banj of rape is allegedly ‘nowhere to be found.’
Agwuegbo who made this known on Thursday via Twitter stated that Seyitan was scheduled to have a meeting with Nigerian Police PRO on Thursday morning.
She expressed that there is strong reason to believe Seyitan did not get home on Wednesday after she was released following her arrest on Tuesday.

The strategist added that Seyitan was not answering her calls when contacted by her lawyer or family.
So Miss Seyitan Eunice Babatayo who was supposed to meet with @PoliceNG PPRO this morning is nowhere to be found. She’s not answering calls or in contact with her lawyer or family. There is strong reason to believe she didn’t get home last night.#StateOfEmergencyGBV

Agwuegbo added that;
It is unconscionable that women in Nigeria cannot speak up about sexual violence done to them without fear of more violence.
What is this pressure on Seyitan to recant if Dbanj is not guilty? Didn’t they already ask for 100m in damages? Why not allow the law take its course?

She insisted that the police will be held responsible for anything that happens to the alleged rape victim, who according to her, is being pressured to recant her testimony.
We have it on good authority that she is being pressured and induced to recant her testimony.
Dear @PoliceNG, you’re already culpable for being a willing tool to harass and intimidate a citizen who accused Dbanj of rape. We will hold you accountable if anything happens to her.

In the same vein, Seyitan’s lawyer, Olamide Omileye of Ojoge, Omileye, and Partners has alleged that she has been ‘forced’ to delete her tweets where she detailed her encounter with the singer in 2018.
According to Premium Times, her lawyers stated that their client deleted the tweets under duress while in police custody on Tuesday.
Seyitan’s account has been tweeting cryptic tweets since Wednesday.

Her lawyers however argued that Seyitan was forced to make the new tweets while in custody, stressing that;
They forced her to make those new tweets when she was in custody. They forced her to delete all her tweets and intimidated the hell out of her life.
Seyitan was reportedly arrested on Tuesday morning by policemen from Sodipo command as confirmed by her legal representatives.
Her lawyers also said the issue has escalated beyond her expectations as she was only out “to speak her truth, tell her story so everybody can move on”.
They added;
The girl has been so traumatised since she was released. She couldn’t believe it. When she was relating what happened to us yesterday, she was crying so much that. She said she slept in the same room, on the floor with criminals. She couldn’t believe that she was made to go through that by the Nigerian Police, just because she wanted to tell her own story.
However, as at the time of filing this report, neither her alleged arrest, release or unknown whereabout was officially confirmed by Lagos State Police Command.
