A member of the Bauchi State House of Assembly representing Baraza Dass constituency, Musa Mante, has been killed by suspected gunmen on Thursday night at his residence in Dass.
According to reports, the gunmen stormed his house in Baraza Village on Thursday night, killed him and abducted his wives as well as his one-year-old daughter.
Musa had tested positive for COVID-19 some weeks ago and was recuperating at home when the incident occured.
A member of the House, Hon Abdul Ahmed Bura, confirmed the incident and the kidnapping of the deceased’s wives and child.
He added that as at Friday morning, the kidnapped women and daughter were still with the gunmen at an unknown destination.
Giving a report about the incident, police public relations officer, Bauchi State Police Command, DSP Ahmed Mohammed Wakil also said: “Two of his wives and a daughter were kidnapped by the gunmen”.
Wakili added that a crack team of police personnel have been mobilised to the area to commence an immediate investigation to rescue the victims and nab the perpetrators.
