Big Brother Naija finalist, Laycon, has reportedly revealed that he has sickle cell, leaving housemates worried about his health.
Laycon while discussing with Dorathy and Vee on Tuesday revealed his genotype, saying he is sickle cell anemic.
The 26-year-old rapper stated that said he does not like to reveal his genotype because when he does people think he is sick.
After revealing this, Dorathy then stated that is the reason why he is skinny and cannot put on weight.
What is Genotype SC?
Sickle Cell (SC) genotype is seen in persons who have inherited the gene for hemoglobin S from one parent and the gene for hemoglobin C from the other.
Hemoglobin SC disease, is a type of sickle cell disease and the second most common after SS, which means it affects the shape of the red blood cells. Red blood cells contain a protein called hemoglobin, which is responsible for carrying blood throughout the body.
Laycon’s revelation has left many fans of the rapper surprised, as he known for cheerful mood, which did not let viewers of the show or fellow housemates suspect he has sickle cell.
