Soldier Sentenced To Death By Firing Squad For Killing Senior Officer
A soldier identified as Azunna Maduabuchi has been sentenced to death by firing squad for killing a senior officer in his unit, Lieutenant Babakaka Ngorgi.
The officer was shot dead by the soldier in Bama local government area of Borno state on Wednesday, July 29.
Late Lieutenant Ngorgi of 202 Tank Battalion, who had his back turned to Maduabuchi, was shot eight times at close range.
The suspected killer was said to have been nursing grudges for unknown reasons against his commander.

The soldier who sat before a court-martial in Maiduguri, Borno State capital was arraigned after it was discovered that he shot Lieutenant Ngorgi for refusing to grant him a welfare pass.
He was found guilty at the court session held at the Maimalari Cantonment, Maiduguri on Tuesday January 12.
Four other soldiers who were arraigned for manslaughter, were also sentenced to various years of imprisonment.
One Sergeant Sani Ishaya was sentenced to four years, while Bidemi Fabiyi got two years.
Private Musa Bala and Private Abdulraheed Adamu also got one-year imprisonment each.
