Popular Instagram comedian and social media influencer, Nwagbo Oliver Chidera, better known as Pankeeroy, has been arrested by operatives of Lagos Zonal Office of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) over alleged internet fraud.
The comedian, with over 500,000 followers on Instagram, was arrested on Wednesday, April 21 and paraded alongside 34 other suspects on Thursday, April 22.

The arrest took place at James Court, Lekki, Lagos, following verified intelligence received by the Commission about their alleged criminal activities.
The commission in a statement said, Chidera, who claimed to have ventured into a Bitcoin scam after he suffered depression, had been presenting himself as a vendor who redeems bitcoin vouchers using bitcoincoretrading.com platform to defraud his unsuspecting victims.
It added that upon his arrest, a Mercedes Benz AMG GLE model worth N36m was recovered from him, adding that investigations revealed that the suspect has N22.3m worth of Bitcoin in his blocked chain account.

Other items recovered from the suspects include exotic cars, iphones, laptop computers, Android devices and Macbook devices.
Names of some other suspects arrested along with Pankeeroy are:
Chinedu Omesu Christian, Gafar Kunle Adedamola, Chuka AnieboRichard, Dibo Ayomide Samson, Rotimi Segun Damilola, Habeeb Banire Damilola, Afolabi Bolutife Michael, and Adekanbi Elijah Adeola among others.
The suspects will soon be charged to court, according to EFCC’s statement.
