Protesters Block Abuja Airport RoadAngry Nigerians protesting against bad governance and insecurity have on Monday morning staged a peaceful protest, blocking road leading to Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja.

The protesters, mostly youths, took their campaign to Dantata Bridge, along the road which serves as a major entrance and exit points to the capital city as early as 5:00am chanting #BuhariMustGo.

Some protesters lit bonfires on Umaru Yar’Adua Way, Abuja, on Monday morning, preventing smooth flow of traffic.

Motorists slowed down to avoid running into bonfire which was set up right in the middle of the road.

The protesters are demanding an end to insecurity, bad governance, corruption, impunity and reversal of suspension on Twitter, among others.

The last time a similar protest held in the nation’s capital was on June 12 and many of the protesters were arrested.

Those mostly affected by the blocked road are workers who live in Lugbe, Kuje, and other areas along the Airport road making their way to the city centre to resume work after the weekend.
