English Premier League (EPL) games on Sunday, February 28 were filled with so much fun and excitement as fans saw the showcase of strength and weakness in five games that were played.
The games, where ten goals were scored in week 26 of EPL game, brought weekend games to an end.
Everton welcomed Southampton to Goodison Park for the last game of game week 26 and there were no surprises as no Under dog defeated a big weight.
Crystal Place 0 – 0 Fulham
Fulham could not make their dominance pay against Lacklustre Crystal Palace in their a 0-0 goalless game at Selhurst Park, leaving them three points from safety at the bottom.
The first half went without a shot on target from both sides as Crystal Palace struggled all through. Ruben Loftus Cheek dictated the flow of the game, creating chance after chance.
Josh Maja was denied by Palace’s goalkeeper, Vincente Guaita. Although, Ademola Lookman came close to winning the match for Fulham in the dying minutes, he fired wired from Harrison Reed’s cross despite being under little pressure.
Leicester 1- 3 Arsenal
Willian and Nicolas Pepe were impressive as The Gunners (Arsenal) took all three points at the king power stadium. Youri Tielemans opening the scoring for the host (Leicester) in the 6th minute after a miscommunication in Arsenal’s defence allowed the Belgian a free run on goal.
Arsenal drew back level when David Luiz connected brilliantly to Willian’s cross, the defender’s powerful header hit the back of Casper Schmeichel’ s net. The Gunners were given a Penalty few minutes after, the Video Assistant Referee (VAR) spotted a handball in Leicester’s penalty box which was so clear from open play. Alexandre Lacazette stepped up to the task and doubled the Gunners lead.
In the second half, Arsenal made a brilliant counter which started with a quick pass who made a brilliant run, found Odegaard who slipped it to Willian, who found Pepe at the open net and we finished them off. It was honestly comfortable in the end.
Tottenham 4 – 0 Burnley
Revamped Gareth Bale shines as Tottenham stroll past struggling Burnley. Bale produced a goal and an assist for in-form Harry Kane in the first 15 minutes of the game. The winger produced a touchline sprint that was a reminiscent of the days when he was the most electrifying runner in Europe.
In the 31st minute, Burnley defender, Tarkowski flicked Sergio Ruguilon’s cross into the path of Lucas Moura. The Brazilian had all the time to take a touch before lashing his finish past Nick Pope from 12 yards out, giving Tottenham their third goal of the afternoon.
Heing min Son combined with Ruguilon down the left in the 55th minute, the ball was played out to Bale on the right, cutting inside, his finish was brutal in its execution. His second strike of the afternoon took him to four goals and three assists in his last four games in all competitions.
Chelsea 0 – 0 Manchester United
Chelsea and Manchester United played a barren draw in a “boring” league fixture. The game looked promising before the start as both teams needed a win, both sides had few goal scoring chances.
United had a shout for penalty controversially turned down after the ball struck Callum Hudson-Odoi’s arm in the box. Referee Stuart Attwell was told by Video Assistant Referee (VAR) to have a look at the incidence on the monitor. After a thorough look at the monitor, the referee stood by his original decision and waved the penalty claim away.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s United managed to stifle Chelsea for much of the game and there were chances for Mason Greenwood and Fred after break. David De Gea had to be at his best with a couple of good reaction saves at the other end.
Sheffield United 0- 2 Liverpool
Jurgen Klopp found salvation after a sequence of four Premier League defeats in the past month was ended with a win against Sheffield United. Liverpool’s goalkeeper Alison Becker was absent on compassionate leave after losing his father.

Liverpool’s Trent Alaxander-Arnold did brilliantly to chase a dead ball down the byline, the home defence seemed to stop assuming the ball had crossed the line, he crossed the ball to Cutis Jones, lurking on the edge of the area and his shot was precise enough to beat Ramsdale. The VAR waded in and saw that the ball didn’t cross the touchline.
In the 65th minute, Bobby Firmino went on a delightful run into the area leaving Sheffield defenders in his wake, he shot took a deflection of Kean Bryan and ended up in the net. It was ruled as an Bryan own goal.
