Kano Hisbah Confiscates Trailer Loaded With 8,400 Bottles Of Beer, Arrests Driver
Kano State Hisbah Command has confiscated 8,400 bottles of foreign alcoholic drinks, smuggled into the state from Zaria, Kaduna State.
Commander-General of the board, Dr. Harun Ibn-Sina, disclosed this in a statement issued to newsmen on Tuesday in Kano state.

He said his men while on operations around Kura, Garun Mallam Local Government Areas of the state, intercepted the beer loaded in a trailer.
According to the statement;
The vehicle was coming from Zaria to Kano when Hisbah officials arrested the driver. Hisbah Board has prohibited the sale of beer in the state to avoid being intoxicated.
He added that the fully-loaded trailer with the alcoholic drinks has been seized while the driver has been arrested and will be charged to court soon.
Haroun Ibn Sina noted that they are going to court to obtain warrant that will allow them destroy the illegal drinks and also hand over the driver to the Police for violating stipulated laws.

He insisted that all alcoholic drinks of whatever nature are been barred from entering Kano state or selling and consumption of it and anybody found violating the rules will face the law.
