Akwa Ibom State Police Command has on Friday, May 14 paraded Uduak Frank Akpan, the suspect in the death of a job seeker, Iniubong Umoren.
Uduak, according to the state Police Commissioner, Andrew Amiengheme, was paraded today to dispel the rumour that he committed suicide in police custody.

While fielding questions from journalists, the suspect revealed that he invited Umoren over for a fake job and then demanded to have sex with her.
According to him, she agreed to his demand but became furious which made her hit him on the head with a stabiliser, which he in turn used on her before she died.
“I asked her whether she could work in a farm where hard drugs were kept; she said she could,” Akpan said during a session on Facebook Live.

He stated;
I asked her that I would like to have sex with her before she left. She agreed and gave a condition that I would have to use condom, which I did.
While I removed the condom, she became furious and removed the nearby stabilizer to hit me on the head… While I was bleeding, in oder to stop her, I used the stabilizer to hit her. When I hit her, she fell.
Uduak, who claimed he hit the victim with a pressing iron, also atmitted at a point that five other ladies had suffered a similar fate in his hands, although none died.
In his own account, Uduak’s father claimed he was not aware of his son’s criminal activities until he was invited to Uran Police Station.
I wasn’t aware, I’m not happy about it. I was asked to call him and I called him back. When he arrived, I was allowed to interact with him. He told me he did something wrong and that he was sorry. I blamed him: ‘Why did you do this? You are not my only child; I have two other children and they are women. If anybody does this to your sisters would you be happy?’ He said no.
When asked to state the number of people he has killed, Uduak said Umoren is the only one but about six other women have fallen victim to his antics.
On his part, Amiengheme while addressing journalists during the event debunked claims that there were shallow graves and bones at the crime scene.

He said;
There are no shallow graves anywhere; there are no bones anywhere. That is the truth. But if anybody can show me any shallow grave there, go and show me. But I know there are no shallow graves.
Meanwhile, Umoren has been laid to rest today in Akwa Ibom amid tears and wailing from family members and friends.
