There have been reports that the Queen may not ever return to full duty as she scales back her commitments and hands over more responsibility to heir Charles.

It is claimed Her Majesty may return to Buckingham Palace for only two days a week in order to attend meetings.

Royal commentators claim the Queen will no longer fully commit to a rammed schedule of receptions and garden parties – of which she has attended hundreds across the decades.

Former BBC royal correspondent Peter Hunt told the New York Times;

Following Prince Philip ’s death, Prince Charles is to be designated the Queen’s official “consort” and will join his mother for the ceremony on May 11.
