Breaking: Sacked Ganduje’s Aide, Salihu Tanko-Yakasai Released By DSS Few Days After Being Arrested For Criticising Buhari
Department of State Services (DSS) has on Monday night released former Ganduje’s media aide, Salihu Tanko-Yakasai, two days after he was arrested for criticising President Muhammadu Buhari and calling for his resignation.
According to DailyNigerian, Tanko-Yakasai’s elder brother, Umar, confirmed the development on Monday night.
“My brother has just been released by DSS. We are now driving home,” he said without given further details about conditions of his bail.
It would be recalled that Tanko-Yakasai, also known as Dawisu, last Friday called on President Muhammadu Buhari-led government to either deal with bandits in the country or resign following the kidnap of hundreds of students from some Northern schools.
Following this, it was reported by friends and family that he had gone missing, only to be revealed few hours after that he is in the custody of DSS.
Abubakar Sadiq, who is the handler of the Twitter handle and official website of Kano state government, in a tweet posted on Saturday morning, February 27, disclosed this whereabout.

Although, DSS initially denied holding him captive, the operative later on admitted that Dawisu was in their custody after many Nigerians took to social media demanding to know his whereabout and calling for his release.
Speaking with ThePUNCH on Saturday, the father of the governor’s aide and a founding member of Arewa Consultative Forum and elder statesman, Alhaji Tanko Yakasai, revealed that his son was arrested on his way to a barbing salon in Kano, the state capital.
In the wake of the arrest, Kano Governor Abdullahi Ganduje announced his sack over “unguarded utterances” and criticism against the ruling APC.
